Welcome to my blog where I attempt to document my adventures in travel, life, and the simple things. Hope you enjoy!
A trip to Europe has become a rite of passage for people across the world. We grow up seeing pictures of the cobblestone streets and buildings older than our entire country. It seems like a fantasy world of new food, classic art, and modern hipness. It calls to so many, and does not disappoint.
The rich history that encompasses the European continent is so impressive. It is a living history book where the stories of your youth come to life. When you stand before the Mona Lisa or in front of the colosseum you get the strange sense of accomplishment and the childhood wonder is replaced with a sense that you have made it. Checking off your bucket list is no easy task, but with European countries being so close together it makes the list more manageable.
There is no perfect amount of time to spend in one place or another, there is no right answer for the ideal itinerary, and no guidebook will ever give you the feeling of getting out there and exploring for yourself.
My first trip to Europe, I quit my job of four years and headed over to the trip of a lifetime for 67 days. We barely scratched the surface. It was like a tester trip where we ran around to a different city every two or three days. We were able to see just about half of the pictures of Jesus - so only about 56,487 in every museum. We lounged on the beaches of Barcelona, had some of the best food of our lives in Paris, walked through the Irish countryside, and skydived out of a helicopter over the glacial waters in Switzerland. It was absolutely brilliant.
Europe is always a great choice. It has something to offer for everyone. Get over there and see for yourself.
